If you were held hostage do you think you could sympathize with your captor, could you talk to him like he’s a friend, and could you imagine reading a book to him?
Yeah me either!
But that is what Ashley Smith had to do to survive!
This is what the movie Captive is about, a true story. Read my review of the book here.
I was glad I got to see the movie after reading the book, I always like to see how each one is different. The movie started out a little different than the book did, but most of the parts were the same.
After reading the book and watching the movie, I am just amazed at everything she went through and how she was able to survive it!
I hope you'll watch it too and come back and let me know what you thought.
About the movie:
Based on a miraculous story about the power of faith, Captive is an “amazing, inspiring” drama about the spiritual collision of two lost souls, Brian Nichols (Golden Globe Nominee David Oyelowo), on the run from police and desperate to make contact with his newborn son, takes recently widowed mother Ashley Smith (Kata Mara) hostage in her own apartment. Fearing for her life and desperately hoping to see her daughter again, she turns to Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven Life for guidance. Ashley and her captor face a crossroads where they discover hope and light in the midst of despair in the moving film that Dick Rolfe, CEO, Dove Foundation hailed as “powerful.”

Hi Jen. I’m totally agree with you. David Oyelowo was just excellent but Kate Mara was more perfect, she was just fantastic and expressing most difficult emotions․ Great movie, thank you for your proposal. What is your favorite scene? Thank you for sharing.
