With Easter just around the corner and A & C getting too old for little stuffed animals, I had to find something that would be more age appropriate for them. In walks (or rolls) Egglo Entertainment eggs. I was so thankful to because my husband keeps wanting to get them out of the habit of getting the little stuffed animals that they are used to getting, now that they are getting older.
We received some Glow in the Dark Egglo Eggs along with The Egg-cellent Easter Adventure book, my boys hate reading but this was a nice change, they actually liked it! Believe me I was shocked that they actually sat down and read it. I thought the pages were very detailed, and it was glossy pages so it made the colors stand out even more. I let my C.J read it by himself. He said it was about “Jesus died for our sins and made light to show us the way out of our sins.”
The eggs, let me tell you, were so neat. At first we just put them in our room with the light on and let them sit for 40 minutes. That wasn't enough, so then we put them in our lamp stand shade so they were smack dab right next to the light, that worked the best. Once they were “charged”, I had the boys go to their room so we could put them around the house, Then turned out the lights and had the boys come out and try to find them. At first I had a hard time getting the eggs together, but then I eventually figured it out 🙂
We also received some Egglo Treasures Scripture Scrolls with some Egglo Bible Verse Stickers that I placed in the eggs for the boys to find. I thought these were neat! They had fun opening the eggs and reading what was on the stickers and matching them up with what was written on the scrolls. (As a side note, make sure they are out of your kid(s) pocket before they go in the wash, if not they will get ruined.) The sticker and scrolls come apart. We had to learn the hard way, luckily it was only a couple, so we have plenty more. I liked how both were small enough to fit into each egg when closed.
It also came with The Egglo Glow in the Dark Egg Hunt Event Curriculum, which came as a download, that way you can print out what you want. It did seem to be more centered towards a church class so since there was only to of them, I just printed out the coloring pages and let them have at it. It contained recipes and lessons.
A.M had to color his dog to look like his stuffed dog he has. I'd say these are good for any age, as soon as they learn to walk, there is something that they can do. Whether its finding the easter eggs, scribbling on the coloring pages, or reading the adventure book. My boys are 10 and 13, so that should give you a starting point. I know sometimes if you go any higher in age they might find it babyish, so I would stop around 13 or 14, but as always it is your choice 🙂
