Entertainment Ideas for Your Whole Family

entertainment for whole family

Americans have arguably never had more options when it comes to entertainment. Yet, finding just the right entertainment for the whole family often feels almost impossible. We’ve all experienced those days of feeling the need to find quality family entertainment near me, but being so starved for ideas that we resort to googling “entertainment near me”!

These four possibilities for entertaining the whole family are available in just about any American city. Consider one of these the next time you find yourself in need of a fun experience for the entire family.

  1. Hire live entertainment for the backyard

When we think about entertaining the family, we sometimes restrict our options by looking solely for fun that takes place outside the home. Great family memories are also waiting to be made in your own backyard! For example, consider hiring someone from your local zoo to visit your home with an exciting array of traveling animals from their exhibits.

Alternatively, bring in a kid-friendly band and hire an expert bartender to entertain your family and the neighbors on a warm summer night. New technologies are making it easier than ever before to find excellent entertainers and hire them for your events, whether they be in your backyard or at the office.

  1. Attend a live sporting event

The ever more crowded entertainment scene has forced sports organizations to step up their games when it comes to pleasing the whole family. While some members of the family simply love the sporting product itself, others are drawn to the additional bells-and-whistles that stadium experiences now include.

For example, baseball parks often feature kid-friendly booths on their concourses. They also design elaborate in-game and post-game activities to hold the attention of kids and family members who could care less about the results of the game. Professional soccer teams frequently partner with youth organizations to offer unique opportunities to their young fans. These include chances to accompany the team out onto the field for the opening festivities and spaces to serve as ball-boys and ball-girls during the games.

  1. Throw a unique birthday party

Thanks to the internet, we’re more aware than ever before of the variety of unique talents that individuals in our communities possess. For the next family birthday party, consider hiring an outside-the-box talent to perform in your basement for kids and parents alike. For example, your community’s top-notch magician is likely just a computer click away. Looking for something even more outlandish? Consider hiring a fire-eater to ooh and ah your guests.

  1. Tour your city on scooters

Most Americans remember the Razor scooters that swept across the country in the early 1990s. Today, scooters are making a comeback. In this case, however, they’re electric! More and more cities across the country have approved the use of these scooters as they’ve realized the potential for increased foot traffic and tourism. Simply download the app for the particular scooters in your city, locate the nearest open batch, and get scooting!
