Fitting Fitness Into Your Schedule

This post may contain affiliate links. If you click through and make a purchase, I may receive a commission (at no additional cost to you). What does this mean?

The most popular excuse people use not exercising is “I’m too busy.” Understandably, this is true for most people; between work, family, commutes, housework, and maintaining a social life, a lot of people even forget to eat or sleep. But healthy habits are not something you should squeeze into your busy lifestyle – if you don’t have your health, you have nothing. If you’re really having trouble making time to exercise, then here are a few suggestions to help you stay on track with your fitness goals.

Use technology

Instead of using your devices to browse social media or play games until you run out of lives, use it to help you set healthy goals. You could look on www.top9rated.com to find the best activity trackers to help you stay on top of your goals. But you don’t have to spend money to track your activity. Your smartphone might automatically come with apps that will help you track your daily steps, count your calories, track your water intake, and monitor your sleep pattern. Pact, for example, is an app that lets you put your money where your gym bag is; every time you commit to a fitness goal for a week, you stand the chance of earning money, or paying out when you fail to do so.

Quick workouts

While it would be better if you did around an hour of exercise per day, it might be easier for you to fit short, but intense, workouts into your schedule. This article in www.huffingtonpost.com has a few suggestions for short workouts, but there are a few things you can quickly do at home. A ten or fifteen-minute yoga routine can greatly improve your agility, balance, and strength. A ten-minute workout on a trampoline is the equivalent of running on a treadmill for thirty minutes. HIIT workouts only last around 30 minutes, but they effectively cover your cardio and strength training requirements for the day. Even skipping burns an estimated 1300 calories per hour. Once you find something that fits into your schedule, you officially have no more excuses.

Make it social

Chances are you have friends who also want to get into shape. In this case, why not skip the chats over coffee and make your social gatherings more active. You could all check out sports clubs in your area and form a team, or you could all join a gym class together and make a pact to go together every week. If this is met with reluctance, then be sneaky and invite everyone to go dancing; no one can deny that dancing is a fun way to stay fit. You don’t even have to go out; just have a dance party in your home. In a one-hour session, you can burn from 250 to 400 calories, all while having fun shaking your hips to your favorite soundtracks.

Even if it means cutting back on social media or missing your favorite shows, there is always time for exercise.
