As promised, I'm going to tell you about my new weight loss journey.
Ok it all started two weeks ago on February 5th when I heard about my husband's job doing a weight loss program. It was through the Tidewater Bariatrics Center (linked here, if you'd like to learn more).
How it goes is, every Thursday we meet for a meeting at my husband's work and get weighed and lab work if you need it.
My husband's job pays for the minimum prescription, which is determined by what plan you and your doctor discuss. I, for instance am on the 5/2 Decision Free Diet, which consists of me having 5 shakes and 2 entrees a week. But if you want extra it comes out of your pocket. Then you need to do at least 2,000 calories worth of Physical Activity every week.
So my starting weight (eek) was 250 lbs. and that was on the 5th when I was weighed and had my first meeting.
Then I was weighed again last week and weighed 244 lbs. Because I was able to get out and walk and get my physical activity in. I was walking down a few blocks to the park, then going to the mall, then when it was too cold to walk outside, I went to the mall to walk around and spend money π
Today when I was weighed I came in at 243 lbs. so only a pound lost π But this is only because it snowed about 4-5 inches and we were stuck inside. So I couldn't get my exercising done.
But I have like 28 lbs. of water in me, so right now I am losing that and then after that is gone I will start losing fat. Which I can't wait for. I am shooting to weigh 200 to start with, but my ultimate goal is to weigh around 150, but I should find out what I should weigh next Tuesday, so hopefully you'll come back and find out how my progress is going.
The shakes are pretty good (here I shared a recipe I made with them) the entrees aren't so bad either, I just wish they had more to choose from, it does get old eating the same ones week after week, but I'm hanging in there. They also have their own chicken soup and some cereal which they call cereal, but I just couldn't handle those. So now I am just eating the entrees and using the shakes. There are so many things you can add to the shakes like pudding mix. The shakes can also be used to make pudding and mousse/ice cream.
With the entrees you can use pretty much any seasoning that you can think of, so my favorite is the onion flakes and the garlic powder. you can also use fat-free sour cream, which is the best!!!
Well this is a lot for now, I'll be back next Thursday and explain more about the diet and give an update, AND also show pics of the food. Don't forget to keep an eye on the Life-Kitchen tab where you can find more Diet recipes that I'll be adding as the weeks go by.
If you're using a diet plan, comment and tell me how it's going for you.
Congrats on the progress, 1 lb is still 1 lb, so celebrate every victory!

Ah that’s awesome Carolyn! Which one did you go with? I love it, it helps me lose more weight than the others were doing. Well I will be weighed tonight, but last I checked I was 230, I WAS 250 in Feb. It’s slowly coming off.
That’s a beautiful progress Jen! I am happy that you found a weight loss process that is working well with your body. Keep it up!
