Thank you to Water Country USA® for providing my family with season passes in exchange for this honest blog review. All opinions are 100% my own.
If you live in driving distance or if you’re looking for a family vacation to the East Coast, you have to check out Water Country USA®. There are so many things to do there. Between the water slides, raft rides, and the kiddie pools, there is the wave pool which in my opinion is the main attraction of the park.
Wave Pool
Let’s talk about the wave pool for a sec. If you’re asking yourself “what the heck is a wave pool”, you’re missing out. The wave pool is this huge pool looking area, which is closed at one end and open at the other.
The closed end is where the waves come from, which is synchronized to the music of Wipe Out. It lasts for 5 minutes with the song and waves and then takes a break for 7 minutes.
The open end is where you walk in at. They have different feet, up to 6 feet. You can also just sit with your little one at the very beginning and let the water come to you. Unfortunately, you can’t bring in floats or rafts, but you can wear a life vest. I like doing this, then you can just lay back and relax.
Lazy River
This is my second favorite, well, to be honest, this and the wave pool are very close on my list. If you’ve never been to a water park then you’re in for a treat.
The lazy river is this long winding river that goes in a circle. So what you do is grab a float, lay back and relax. The river will take you around and around until you’re ready to get off. Perfect time to let all the stress of the day/month/year just melt away and just be lazy for once.
Water Country USA has two lazy rivers. One requires a float (Rambling River) and the other is just you and the water current taking you around (Hubba Hubba Highway). Both still very relaxing. Some even have water spraying and water
buckets that fill up and dump water all over you. So they’re fun for the kids also.
Family Raft Rides
The family raft rides come in a close third, heck I want to put them all in the number one spot.
Why family raft rides? I’m going to be honest, I don’t like anything too fast or too high up. So that’s why I stick with family rides, plus it’s awesome to ride with the family and get to hear them laugh.
Water Country USA has a couple there that I liked. Like for instance, Big Daddy Falls and Aquazoid.
Big Daddy falls is a raft ride that fits 2-4 people with twists and turns. You go in one tunnel, then reach a pond area where they spin you around and take you to another tunnel, and then you reach the bottom. The tunnel isn't covered at the top so it's not dark. It's not too bad of a climb to get there either.
Aquadzoid is also a raft ride that will fit 2-4 people. I don't remember too many twists and turns on this one. But on the other hand, this one is covered so it's pitch black the whole way down. All you hear is the water splashing and your party either laughing or screaming. This has a lot of steps to get to the top, my party and other riders had to stop halfway and take a breather.
