Your Way: Take What You Have And Flip It

Celebrities have shown that anyone with the right idea can make their own clothing brand. Sure for the rest of us regular people who don’t have a large media machine working for them, our sales won’t be as high as theirs in the beginning. But eventually, if you can forge your own style, you may be able to one day, be a name brand on every high street around the globe. Where does ‘your’ style start? Is it something that your dream up from scratch?

That’s the long and arduous way and rightfully so, a fashion franchise isn’t born overnight. Start off small by editing what you already have. Take something that you're normally wearing and flip it, twist it, making it something that reflects your senses and attitudes. It's far easier to take a canvas was a picture already painted on it, and then change it into something new, then starting from the first brush stroke. See it as a practice phase if you want, but the call of creativity is too hard to resist.

Alter existing style

Starting off as a kid creeping their way through to puberty and starting a typical rebellious phase, we begin by changing what our parents made us wear. Skater shoes in the classic black and white take on a whole new look when you color the shoelaces.

Swap out the white laces for pink or purple and paint the rubber edge the same color, and you have a unique shoe. Or how about a long sleeve fit and flare style dress that you cut the sleeves to the middle of your upper arm? Hemming in the new cuts so they fit snugly around your figure achieves a new bare-skin look.

Seeing as these types of dresses are lightweight and designed to be worn during the hotter months, a short-sleeve alteration suits it perfectly. If you have a casual blazer that you wear as part of a summer chill outfit, change the buttons to something more bling and colorful. Consider the current line up of casual clothes you have and ponder how you could change them even just a little to make them your own.

Precious in meaning

Jewelry is a part of the outfit that’s one step more than accessories despite it technically being grouped such as. It's an impactful statement on something more than what you are physically. Jewelry should always be an expression of your soul and character that will exist beyond life itself. Why do you think wedding rings matter so much, and the famous blue ocean jewel in the Titanic movie? It's become jewelry holds a window into a realm that is beyond mortal beauty. Gold and silver are strong choices but polished bronze and platinum rings are superb additions to almost any outfit.

They’re subtle but when they’re seen up close, the observer understands an appreciate for stylish metals. A personalized name necklace in matte or metallic finish goes along these same lines. It's a very personal choice, one that only means something to you, it's a piece that perhaps no one else could pull off.

Creating your own style isn’t done in a workshop, it's made in your own mind first. Then try it out on existing styles already, taking them over. Jewelry is precious in meaning, it doesn’t have to be sparkling when the meaning of an item is so dear to your nature.
